It is our belief that once an individual recognizes their Identity in Christ, this will lead to freedom from various forms of addictions (ie, drugs/alcohol, prescription drugs, food, sex, material things), and will also free families from domestic abuse, poverty, and numerous other issues which prevent them from living the abundant life Christ came to give!
FEATURED MAN OF THE YEAR: Nicholas Leo Millen II
Nicholas Leo Millen II was born to Nicholas and Keisha Millen. He cherishes his role as big brother to his younger sister, Nickenzie, whom he loves dearly. His educational foundation began in the Forrest City School District, and he spent his entire life immersed in learning environments. By the age of three, his father was already pouring into him— teaching him math and recognizing the spark of brilliance within him.
From preschool through elementary, junior high, and high
school, Nicholas consistently excelled as an accelerated learner. In 2012, Nicholas and his family relocated to the state of Alabama, marking the beginning of a
new chapter in his educational journey.
Even though his family was a bit nervous about the move,
Nicholas adjusted to his new school with ease and continued to thrive without
missing a step. He was in the 5th grade when he started his new educational
journey in Alabama, Autauga County School District. He continued to accelerate
with many academic accomplishments.
It was in the 5th grade at the YMCA, Prattville, AL, when he
started his basketball journey under his dad's coaching. He went on to play the
game of basketball along with AAU travel ball until he graduated high school.
Despite his athletic pursuits, he stayed focused on his
education, knowing—thanks to his parents’ guidance—that academics were his
ticket to a debt‑free college future.
Nicholas stayed focused and completed AP classes, Student
Government Association, along with many other clubs throughout his high school
journey. He also went on to score a 31 on the ACT. Nicholas graduated high
school with honors with the class of 2020, during the COVID pandemic. He didn't
have a prom, nor a normal graduation. But he continued to push forward for his
success.
Later, he joined the Air National Guard and received a
scholarship ride to the University of Alabama Birmingham. He was encouraged to
apply to multiple universities and was accepted into Howard University, while
also receiving interest letters from Princeton and Yale. Nicholas graduated
from the Air National Guard Basic Training and Tech School and went back to
Birmingham, AL, to continue his college education.
With strong faith, tenacity, dedication, discipline and
determination, all while serving our country in the Air National Guard, Nicholas
graduated with his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in December
2024, and one year later December 13, 2025, he graduated with his master’s
degree in mechanical engineering.
This young man accomplished all of this without any student
loans and debt free! Nicholas’ parents stated, “We know without a doubt this
was the work of the Lord along with Nicholas doing his part because we know
faith without works is dead. This is a miracle. This is legacy. This is God's
promise of 'Yes' and 'Amen.' We give God all the glory for such a beautiful honor
of being Nicholas’ parents. HE MASTERED IT!!!!”
